Course Cost:
$1500 for students who completed EMT Basic and EMT Intermediate at TechPro Services.
$1800 for students who completed EMT Intermediate at TechPro Services.
$2400 for students who completed EMT Intermediate somewhere other than TechPro Services.
This course is designed to meet or exceed the minimum Texas state and national requirements for EMT-Paramedic training curricula as set forth by the Department of Transportation National Highway Traffic and Safety Administration’s 1999 Paramedic Training Curriculum.
However, candidates for this class must have completed an Intermediate program either through TechPro Services, Inc. or another approved or accredited program. Potential students who enroll in this online Paramedic course who completed EMT-Intermediate training at another training program or institution will be required to contact the course instructor to make arrangements to take an entrance examination. This exam will be graded and sub scaled, and an individualized remediation plan will be designed for the student. The plan will target areas identified as potential weaknesses based on the exam results, and students are required to complete the entire remediation plan with an average of 80% or higher prior to starting the Paramedic program online work. Students will also be required to come to Abilene, Texas to attend at least one extra practice/testing session to complete checking off on all Intermediate skills as identified in the TechPro EMT-Intermediate program.
Students who enroll in the Paramedic program who completed EMT-Intermediate through TechPro Services, Inc. are automatically accepted to the program without taking an entrance examination or completing extra skills dates.
This program does require that students attend practice and then testing sessions in Abilene, as well as a proctored Final Examination. Sessions are typically held as follows, unless a federal or standard religious holiday interferes with the set schedule:
- Required Days 1 and 2 are held the second Monday and Tuesday of each month
- Required Days 3 and 4 are held the fourth Monday and Tuesday of each month
- Skills Testing sessions on all skills covered in Days 1, 2, 3, and 4 can be achieved at subsequent sessions but typically can be completed in either of the above scheduled sessions each month. However, testing will NOT be achieved at the same time as practice. Students MUST plan to RETURN for testing prior to being cleared for clinical and field rotations.
- Required days 5 and 6 are held quarterly on the first Monday and Tuesday of the month. Day 5 is designed to follow completion of all ambulance and hospital rotations for proficiency testing clearance prior to attending final field internship. Day 6 is designed for Final Exam and National Registry skills review.
The course fee covers tuition, FISDAP clinical scheduler and tracker, and malpractice insurance fees. Students must supply or have access to textbooks which include:
